that I was really looking forward to the movie. ..Well, it turned out to be.. well, not aweful, but it lacked something. I liked Cage's characters and there were some brilliant moments, worth a watch.
the concept of the movie is wonderful and the acting by nic cage is as usual, superb..but there are parts of this movie that just seem ridiculous..and the ending wasn't that great..3/5
Kaufman at his best! Love this movie, wish he would make more because Sycnecatededtedde, or whoever it's spelled was a huge disapointment! One of the only Cage film's I actually enjoyed alot, besides "bringing out the dead"

The plot is so-so, but the convolutions (see Reviews) add an intriguing aspect. This movie is definitely best for the philosophically inclined. I give it 6/10, good for one watch.
i dont think this was kaufmans best screenplay but i do think it turned out to be a very good film. thanks to the director and actors. i likes how he worked the book into the movie and back out again. i wonder if his "brother" is how he wishes to be. kinda interesting. 4.5/5 stars.
The first half of this film is the observation of life, the second half is how life plays out. The real screenwriter of this film Charlie Kaufman wrote a fictional version of himself into the movie along with a twin brother, Donald Kaufman (doesn't exist in real life and that's not a spoiler). These two characters reflect the real screenwriter, the conflict within that can feel as if it were splitting you into. So the first half of this film

will feel as if it were written by Charlie Kaufman and the second half will feel as if it were written by Donald, it is intensional to resolve the true struggle.
5/5 stars, Charlie Kaufman still stands as my favorite screenwriter. Check out other movies he's written "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and "Being John Malkovich". Both on my Eerily Beautiful playlist for thought provoking, darkly beautiful, and deeply meaningful films.
I loved it so much! . Oh my, I can't think of a perfect word to describe the screenplay other than real. Just beautiful & awesome. I admit, I liked Cage in this film, b/c I strongly don't consider him my favorable actor. But I think he did great, Meryl, as always, Cooper was great, Tilda, just everyone.
Really incredible film, at least most of it! For the first 3/4 of the film, I would easily say it's one of the best films I've ever seen, with such detailed observation of human behaviour. Then the last quarter loses it completely!

It's like the last part was written by Charlie's twin brother Donald, using well established 'principles of good writing'. In fact, it all starts to change when Charlie goes to the seminar about script writing and then gets his brother involved. Charlie asks his brother how he would end the film - it's like the actual ending is his reply.
Barring the ending, this is really a powerful film, exploring creativity, life, change, passion, action and human communication. Definitely worth the watch. I'm adding this one to my Crazy Films playlist..

i just like how the movie devours itself like the snake that eats itself from it's own end, which is referenced in the movie. it's just brilliant. the movie is just so original and clever. just great.
i appreciate the concept of this movie... its smart and complex. i found it interesting and thought provoking.. but overall, i really didnt like it... i especially didnt like the climax ending.. its so lame and generic. still, 3/5
a brilliant movie, but the end I didn't think was.. fitting I guess. it took such a sharp left turn waay out in left feild that it's almost unbelievable that they went that way. I really don't know what to think about it after that ending, but I guess that makes it even more brilliant. still I would have been more satisfied with something less extreem. the very end was good, the last 4 minuetes, but all that nonsence before that was just to much. it turned a drama into an action thriller. still I give it a 4/5, I would have givin it a 5/5 if it weren't for the end.
Im lost for words. This movie is brilliant! Chris Cooper definitely deserved the oscar he won! Meryl Streep and Nicholas Cage Should also have won and charlie and donald as well ofcorse..
This movie was very different than i had expected after seeing the trailer.. I had expected a lighter film.
It was much better than i had expected!!

i finally got to watch this brilliant film.. i've been waiting to do so for almost 2 years.. this film's screenplay is the best.. only Kaufman could have written such a PERFECT story.. it's his best work according to me.. yes.. even better than Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind and Being John Malkovich..
all three(four?..lol) principal characters were so well etched.. Also Meryl, Nick and Chris were pitch-perfect.. especially Meryl.. i really think she should have won her third oscar for this role.. My heart went out to her when she said "I want to be new.."..
Chris Cooper definitely deserved his oscar .. Nick Cage deserved one too.. of course, so did Chralie..

Adaptation Def Worth Watching - Good Quailty With Quick Loading!
I wouldnt have thought before I saw it that i could believe Nic. Cage in this role(s) but he really is good! The movie is not really slow as it keeps up place with story and some action .. it's the tone the monotone sometimes that makes you think it's boring I'm thinking.
The whole second half of the movie had me guessing! Meryl S. is really good as is the other main guy - really good I give this 4.5/5- 5/5.. I think ..
i would never imagined hollywood can actualy come up with a film this good i was suprised with the quality of the film and acting and the directing it deserves all the awards it can get story is soo diffrent i was glued to the screen ending was top class merly was on top of her game cage was real nut case in this film it had me going from begining to end there was never a dull moment warning this film is not to every ones taste it is like marmite you either like it or hated i loved it
