This film is taken from the unauthorized autobiography of Chuck Barris (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind), his private journals, public records and hundreds of hours of taped interviews. Chuck Barris was the creator of "The Dating Game", The Newlywed Game" and host of "The Gong Show" just to mention a few. While holed up in a New York City hotel room, in fear for his life, in fear of everything he typed his autobiography, claiming he had been working as a hitman for the CIA and had murdered numerous people. This film is his story.
Directed by George Clooney, who is also in the film with a cast of wonderfully talented stars from Drew Barrymore and Julia Roberts to taped bits from .. Clark and game show host Bob Eubanks. This is one I don't think you're going to want to miss. Especially if you grew up in this era.
A great film..full of great actors..and great music.

This movie was pretty good. I've always been a fan of Chuck Barris and his game shows. The Gong Show and $1.98 Beauty Show were comedy classics! As for Barris being a CIA hitman, I don't know. He doesn't seem to fit that mold of a trained killer. Maybe that's what makes his claim so plausible. Like someone stated in an earlier post, the best way to hide something is right out in plain site. If his claim is true..the mans a genius! 8.5/10 Gong Show trivia: What was The Unknown Comic's real name?
Bad, Barris. He relieves his guilty conscience by way of a CIA allegory..IMPORTANT events happen covertly to better the situation of the average pedestrian..the gong show covertly destroys the last creative hopes for the audience? Capitals grip tightens around the throat of the proletariat.
I remember all those programs they were pretty cool . The Movie is really good to although I dont belive all these things happened, I dont desbelive them eaither.
I really have no Idea why. but I LOVE this movie. I was really really happy when I saw that it was on here 5/5 one of my favorites. whether it's true or untrue doesn't matter. it's a good story and a cool movie :d
This movie was very interesting. It is weird to think of this movie when watching The Dating Game or anything like that. It is a very good movie. It is well worth the watch.
Ive Been A Great Fan Of The Tv Shows Like The Dating Game The Newlywed Game And The Gong Show lol Im Only 19 And There My Favourite Chuck Barris Is Great When I First Saw This Film I Loved It Like 10 Minutes In And Also To Mention George Cloony Made This Film In His Directorial Bebut Good Work Clooney And Sam Rockwell Plays A Wonderful Performance As Chuck Barris Im Sure This Film Will Not Be A Disapointment
