A group of heavily armed hijackers board a luxury ocean liner in the South Pacific Ocean to loot it, only to do battle with a series of large-sized, tentacled, man-eating sea creatures who have taken over the ship first.
Cool monsters plus a bunch of no-good villains you don't care about who you know will get munched. Basically, "The Poseidon Adventure" meets "Speed 2" meets "Aliens" meets "Scooby-Doo". Engrossing and action-packed. Treat Williams and Famke Janssen are excellent.
This a pretty good action/thriller movie.
So much better than what I expected. Not any well known actors, but all have done a good job and has a good chill factor, which keeps you wondering whats gonna happen next!
have to say that i love this film, ive seen it countless times and it never gets old. the only downside i would point out is that the creatures dont appear till about 45mins into the film but once they do its none stop action all the way!! btw kevin j.o'connor(the mummy) is probably the best part (other then the ottoia) 'can you just get astma?'
I have been aware of this film for a while but surmised it might be dribble by the title. I was wrong. Enjoyable watch. 3/5-Good. Oh and, "what are you looking at?" 'BLAM!' HAHAHAHA (You'll see what I mean.)
pretty cool movie keeps you on the your toes but the monsters are great and well done in the picture. entire ships eaten and noone knows but the captain what they maybe great cast and filmed right.
I thought this was pretty good, funny at times. You think they use enough bullets?

It's funny when they say "the only way to slow it down is to feed it, what you got? all I got is a wet stick of gum and a breath mint." Of course no creature that lives 40,000+ feet in the ocean would be able to survive at sea level, and vise-versa.
i remember loving this movie and i still do.simple monster story but i guess its one of my classics.it use to scare the hell out of me but in retrospective i was only 9 when it came out.
Actually a surprisingly enjoyable movie, more so than I had anticipated. Had the chance to check it out in the theatres but I skipped past it because the previews of it made it seem rather hokey; now I wish I had actually looked into it when it first came out.

Okay. . . I did find the "full bodied" creature very over-the-top: It would've played better if the tentacles were in fact their own individual creatures rather than the extremities of a much larger "boss" monster.
I also did not like the final scene, but I would've been even more infuriated if they had pulled the exact same type of bogus "final jump scene" garbage that most other movies of this genre are ruthlessly notorious for, so I couldn't hate on it TOO much.
Also, I had no idea Wes Studie was in this one; it was great seeing him as a major,
defo give this a go if you like monster movies, its just a shame that you have to wait for nearly half the movie to see what the creatures look like in which case movies like tremors are a millions times better.
other than some questionable acting from 1 or 2 characters i love this movie. its a very creepy keep you on the edge of your seat flick. with monsters around every corner how could ya not enjoy it?
This isn't a serious horror flick, it's better because the graphics are good, acting solid, and it has great comic timing. Every character was portrayed well and the bad guys got what was coming to them with flair each and everytime.
