5/5. Anyone rating above that rejects the fact that this film is from the end of the 90's.. common i saw this on the cinema and i was amazed all the way! the casting is great, the story is great, the lightning is great, the sound is amazing..and the CG.. for the time is at least glorious!
i liked broderickin this film, needed a modern day version, watching the old japanese ones are hysterical w model cars and sound bytes from the simpsons, but this movie here was dun rele well, plenty of action n adventure, wonder if ther ever gunna make a sequel
godzilla american-style. they did GODZILLA justice by making him more closer to a giant iguana. becuz everytime i look at my iguana. i think of the movie and say 'man,that was a awesome movie'. oh and by the way my iguana friend's name is REIN. OH YES REINZILLA. oh he fits the name to a tee
i have to say after seeing the trailers i was hooked on seeing this movie and when i did it didnt fail to please me at all, great special effects and great actors. i

loved how they used new york city and madison square garden as godzillas nest with thousands of smaller babies waiting to get out in the city, very tense. i had no idea what godzilla looked like till later in the film which the director done brilliantly to hide from the audience as early scenes show say his giant feet crushing people in new york.
Incredibly enough this superb movie got a very mixed welcome when it came out. Partly because it is not exactly faithful to the myth of the old Godzilla movies which I never watched myself because they seemed too silly.
But this one is top-shelf with fantastic special-effects, a very suspenseful story and many scenes that have become classic. It is also full of humor and romance.
this film is very special to me ,it ws the last movie i ever watched with my uncle
in the cinemas in 1998 and the film is really good . 5 stars for me , enjoy this i gurantee it lool
