A great movie that leaves you thinking - what if doing the right thing is gonna have a bad outcome, would you do it? In the end scene i was on the notion that after

seeing the little girls mother had not changed her ways, he would have abducted the little girl and gone looking for his ex girlfriend and raise the kid themselves.
An excellent movie! Heartbreaking and very moving. Sometimes the right thing seems so wrong that its easy to start wondering if its even worth it. Left me with something to think about.. Recommended.
The Afleck brothers really pulled it off with this one. Excellent performances from all the cast, all horribly believable, and a bleak premise that just got darker as the film went on. 5/5.
Everytime I see this movie I want to punch that mother in the head..She's a horrible example of a human being and I spent more time hating her and being angry at her then anyone else..
I think that mother has played a crackhead mother in many movies..Well she plays the part perfect..

Good thriller, excellent cast, nice plot with more than one twist. The first half of the film is a little dawdling, but the ending more than makes up for it. 4/5
Casey Afflect brings a great accent and great acting. The storyline is a bit far fetched but who cares? Excellent mystery, with twists you don't see coming. Interesting ending. Leaves you thinking.
its a sad movie..it really got to me when they found the little boy it was heartbreaking..patrick had to make a very hard choice with the little girl, if i was in that situation im not sure which way i would of gone
Sad to say i didn't like it. Casey Affleck is the worst guy for this role. The only good one I saw there was Amy Ryan (Helene). Other than her, the movie sucked. & I was real excited to see it too.
This definitely was a thinking movie. I was torn. Do you do the right thing or not? That is something you really have to think about. Slow but interesting.
I tend to stay away from the Afflecks but Ben did a good job directing and Casey is a good actor, plays a tough smart guy pretty well. The story was very interesting with good twists and a moral dilemma for the main characters. No boring moments whatsoever and I was glued to the screen the whole way through. Excellent. 4.5/5
i wasted 2 hours of my life watching my computer screen. ive seen lumps of coal with more acting ability than casey afleck. did he get the role because of his brother..i reckon so. sounded like the 13 year old krusty burger dude from the simpsons. could have been so much better. 2.5/10 and i'm being extremely generous!
Well made flick with great characters and acting. Really brings up a great point about how hard it can be facing moral rights vs legal rights, and made me wonder what i would do and feel if faced with such a decision! 4.5/5 and going on my playlist.
This movie was thrilling!! It shows how some people donīt change even if they are given a second chance... which is quite sad... Ending tragical yet unfortunately realistic :-(
