This was excellent, somebody said "how can you send your son off to his death, well it was a different time and values for one and they believed the coarse was just.
The pain he felt along with the family was heart wrenching and sadly is still being played out now.
A very good friend of mine is in Afghanistan now and his dad pushed him into the army. Two week ago he (the dad) broke down saying he couldn't live with himself if anything happened to his son.
Almost 100 years after jack died, the same scene could be played out again. Sad but well worth the watch,
this was a really good movie surprisingly.
for the first 5-10 mins, I could not get past Jack as anything but harry potter, but once that obsticle past I really enjoyed it. Being British myself it is a real joy to hear words like 'old man' and 'jolly good'
I will give this movie a big 5/5
A really good film nearly had me crying. All that let down the film was the father's acting. I didn't think Daniel radcliffe would be any good in this part but he did very well . 4/5

First time I've ever seen the Radcliffe boy in anything but (Harry Potter) he is
great in this as Kipling's son Jack. Many shots are from Kipling's estate which
I consider a nice touch. Although the troops looked more like WWII not WWI
it is in my view an excellent Movie. Rated 4/5.
R. Kipling was a stuffy Englishman in my head; however, this movie made him human , caring, honorable, and a fun loving storyteller. Four stars for the cast, the script, Rudyard, Jack, and fatherly love.
Inteliegent, moving, true story.
This is a ITV production which is on par to BBC production, which in its self is a major acheivement.
Regarding the film may I say that once again it was pure Joy to watch.
Very Well done to all concerned.

Another great British film. Worth watching due to the great story line, good acting, even some action. Gives a small glimps of how life was for the families and the soldiers of the Royal British Army.

This is one of those clean and professional British-based productions that is a joy to watch. It is a dignified rendering of how people thought and lived in those times.
