i liked this movie, alot of people enlisting are never told about stop loss. i havent met anyone that has ever been stop lossed..hopefully i wont be the first :p
either way good movie. liked the ending.
stop loss sucks! especially when ur rdy to get out and ur company's deploying in jan which is when the no more stop loss takes effect..and wat do they do? push up the deployment date to dec 27th so they can still send u! guess who's going through that..
A vaguely entertaining military-politico/drama, a tad to mawkish and dramatic for my taste. I felt the writer-director had utterly tied themselves in political knots and the film appeared to be nothing but tossed around pro and anti war cliches, yawn.
I always wanted to see this movie but I never got around to it. This was an excellent movie. A must see for all. Especially ppl in the army, I know this has to suck for men and women who this has happend to. 5/5
I watched this movie with an open mind, though i first had my own opinions on what one should do if they were 'stop-lossed', but we all have our limits and how can another prejudge what the right thing is to do in such a situation. Those who go out to war are more than brave and this film portrayed that for me, i felt such empathy and compassion for these men, some can adapt better than others but then you get the ones who can't and are faced with difficulty (PTSD) And the sad thing is some of these men get left to deal with it, as did some one close to me. Anyway i would recommend this great film..3/5

This film has nothing new to give by ways of post or pre-production values!
The script is exceptable for a long slow ride!
This film is anti war as ssen by the men on the ground!

A lot of people have and are going to comment about this movies views. I am only going to say its different for many people i myself have family that were stop lossed while its never good news they proudly went back into service. I am going to leave it at that because this is not a political forum, As for the movie its a great watch. Great casting and powerful acting no matter if you like the dicerctional views or not its worth a watch. 4/5.
This is a depiction of the reality faced by those interrupted by war. A moving tale of brotherhood and small town communion. If there was ever a film that ignites the truth , this is that film. Unlike previous 'Hollywood' military movies, 'STOP LOSS' is a gut wrenching expose' of the back door draft. God bless all families intruded upon by our government using these men and women as pawns. In years to come we will witness more and more tales from soldiers blanketed by a system of corruption. 5/5
There are a few things misleading in your comment.
"those interrupted by war"
Any reservist know that can be called up at anytime. And don't feel it has a interruption.

I enlisted in the early 70's during Nam and it was then how it is now, you enlist for you 2 4 6 year tour and you KNOW that there is a 2 year period were as they can decline your discharge or call you back. No one is Blinded or Blanketed about this, Any one who signed up knows this before they sign.
back door draft.. and they will use the word war for anyinsurgency just to keep the numbers up,, please tell me that there is some group in the USA fighting Stop-LOss
It truly amazes me how these brave young souls are going through absolute torture mentally, emotionally as well as physically with out proper support from government who lie and trick them when they have done so much for country, freedom, and family! My heart goes out to all of them, and their families as well as heart felt respect! This was well made and very well acted, and i give this one an easy 5/5! And it's going on my playlist for sure.
As a veteran, I had goose bumps when they were coming home, with the parade. I remember that feeling, and every time I see something like that, it gives me goose bumps. It's the same feeling when I graduated boot. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of my brothers and sisters that are still in, as do they go out to all of their families.
but i have to say it is A real eye opener of what this country's sons & daughters have gone through and are asked to relive it again. but your suppose to keep your chin up even though you may die in a foreign country. and know that you may never see your family or where your from for the last time. very good movie on life and times of an AMERICAN SOLDIER! 5+/5 GO ARMY GO NAVY GO MARINES GO AIR FORCE MAY GOD BLESS YOU GUYS!
