I feel very bad that I can't enjoy this film as much as I did when I was young. It seems that the fear that once flowed through my veins has finally run out, and it pains me to say that I can't enjoy great films like this one without it. My lambs stopped screaming long ago, and now I have nothing.
I know that this is a great film, and I recommend it to anyone that wants to experience the fear that only small children can understand -- 9/10.
An hour later after I watched this movie, I couldn't help but think, the only reason this movie is a thriller because you see a young, not yet proven, FBI trainee trying to solve a case involving a serial killer that has succeeded in eluding the federal government for years. And I laughed quietly to myself, thinking, "Man, if only Bruce Willis, or the Bad Boys duo were in this, they would bust some caps up in there, badabang badaboom, movie over." Haha, but then it wouldn't be very thrilling to watch, though it might be AWESOME! =P I love imagining different characters in various movies, like Riddick in 300, or Optimus Prime in Lord of the Rings. Try it in one of your daydreams, it's fun.
But definitely great job by Jodie Foster, who I felt was overlooked by many by the sheer ingenuity of Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
Genius. What other way to put it. Usually I'd type up some in depth review to the movie, but I can't really say anything, other than watch it now! Anthony Hopkins is so creepy, so mysterious, yet oddly very interesting. Now I'm seriously intrigued and can't wait for time to open up to watch Hannibal, where Lecter is the main character. After I looked this movie up, I found out that Hopkins won an Academy Award for this movie, despite only being on film for 16 minutes. Wow.
All I can say is that if you're spending time wondering if this movie is worth the two hours, reading reviews, user comments and such, you're wasting precious time that could be spent watching the movie. As all brilliant movies are, they start slow, pick up, and end with a bang, leaving you wanting more.

Hopkins plays Lecter, in a way which brings the crimnal mastermind to life !
The plot is amazing and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Chilling and yet sophisticated. This movie influenced my life in so many ways. This movie was released just two days after I was born. When people ask me what I want to do in life, I reply by saying, "Well, have you ever seen The Silence of the Lambs?" :}

great movie. im only sad that it took me so long see it. great acting from everyone. great plot. and overall a fantastic movie. a most see for fans of twisted movies!!
