A boat has been destroyed, criminals are dead, and the key to this mystery lies with the only survivor and his twisted, convoluted story beginning with five career crooks in a seemingly random police lineup.
Gabriel Byrne, Stephen Baldwin, Kevin Spacey, Pete Postlethwaite and Chazz Palmentieri make up the cast of this twisty-turny thriller that keeps one foot in the world of Martin Scorsese and the other planted squarely in film noir. It's the kind of movie that garners a cult following (which it has) and that's better enjoyed if you know nothing about it. There's a big surprise ending (one of the most famous in film history) that will spoil the film if you know it beforehand. In fact, I wonder if the film would hold up as well to a second viewing once you know what's coming.
Received Academy Awards for its screenplay and for the performance of Kevin Spacey, before anyone realized that Spacey would just deliver the same sardonic performance in every movie he'd make from that point forward.
This is the second time I watched this movie and rate it 4/5
Awesome twist at the end, who would of known. I got to say it was a bit slow in some parts but you have to get into the story to really enjoy it. Kevin spacey was great.
This movie is amazing, im speechless, I guessed at the ending and I was right, wow im just in awe this movie is really amazing. Im really disappointed I saw this movie 10 years later.
I never really understood what people meant when they described a movie as "brilliant" or a "masterpiece" until I saw this movie. What a masterpiece indeed. There's not a moment in the movie where you would want to take your eyes away. Excellent cast, brilliant plot, storyline was nothing short of spectacular. I always watch this movie from time to time. Never gets old or boring. One of my favourites.
This is 1 of the Greatest movies i will ever see. Storyline will take every1 by suprsise, even you clever people lol Fantastic Movie, Must Must Watch. 10/10
I saw this movie years ago, but just had to comment on it. Seriously, this is the greatest movie of all time!! And as my title says will go down in history.
Bollywood has always copied their movies but..u know :S.they're not that good!
They made a movie "kaante" based on Reservoir Dogs..

a crime suspense movie that even girls will love.
I think the best part about it is that, as some have said, it starts a little slow and is a bit confusing and then it all twists at the end. But the best part is that once you know the twist, you can still watch it again, and notice little things and be smug by how brilliant a plan it was.
Someone said it was like the "sixth sense" of crime movies, but I didn't like seeing the sixth sense after I knew its twist, knowing ruins the whole movie, so I think this movie holds up a lot better on multiple viewings.
the endin was the best part of the movie and i loved how there was no cliffhangers a truly well directed and thought out movie even the cast were great 10/10
one of the best of the best, this is that kind of movie you watch and say im glad i sat down and checked this out. spacey was bang on. the story was gripping form start to finish. the directing is top class.
overall:5/5 a must watch
