At first I thought this movie was going to be mediocre since Cuba Gooding, Jr. hasn't been a very good one in a long time. I was pleasantly surprised and am glad I watched this one.
This movie kicks some serious butt. Just goes to show a wrong turn doesn't always have to be a wasted trip. Cuba at his best, one straight shooting ass kicking son of a b**ch.
Excellent crime drama. Cuba was fantastic as a torn soul who finally left the fulcrum of his life for a very realistic ending. Miquel was also excellent as his usual quietly sinister character with an abyss of underlying violence. I loved this movie.
Now this is life one mistake in life can send things crashing down on you. Never thought that Cuba could pull off a mobster character. 8 out of 10 stars.
Cuba keeps doing really well in these low key movies. They seem to be good because they are well rounded but don't try to hard to wow you with a cliche twist that we're supposed to find brilliant. I sort of feel like the story could be a little more developed on camera but overall it's still satisfying entertainment.
It's an example as to why I find B movies perferable.
Good cast, solid action and the story pulls no punches.
This movie was pretty good. Old fashion Ganster movie. Great cast, good storyline. Worth watching at least once. 3 outof 5 stars for me. I did not care for the ending either.
I like it when Cuba plays a mobster character. He can really put himself into it. He can really put himself into any role for that matter. Any role that requires a character of loyalty and honor he fits with perfection.
